A few days away from the November 5 elections in the U.S., the battle to occupy the oval room of the White House is getting closer and closer. Some interesting facts are beginning to appear in the media and uncertainty is growing about the final results.
As is common in these elections, in which early voting takes place, around 33 million voters have already cast their ballots, both by mail (17.8 million) and in person (15 million) in the states where this option is already available.
Texas, Florida and California lead with 3.3 million votes each, and Georgia and North Carolina also exceed 2 million, reported EFE.
A notable element this time around is that the volume of voters exceeds that of any previous election, indicating a potentially historic turnout.
Recent data reveal a considerable mobilization among Republicans in key states such as Arizona, North Carolina, Nevada and Pennsylvania, in tune with former President Donald Trump's calls to his followers to participate before the official day.
However, on the way to day zero, the polls published on the presidential election show a close result between candidates Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. The Republican and the Democrat are in a dead heat, at 47% each, among likely voters, according to the CNN poll, released last Friday.
That result coincides with a national poll by The New York Times / Siena College, known on the same date, which shows another tie with 48%. A Siena College assessment, on swing states, gives that four are led by Harris and three by Trump.
However, in other states the lead is much clearer. Kamala Harris is six points or more ahead in Minnesota, New Hampshire or Virginia, while Trump has the same lead in Texas, Florida and Ohio.
Pollster estimates indicate that the Democratic candidate could win 276 electoral votes, compared to 262 for the Republican candidate.
However, the difference between the two is not big enough to predict a victory for the blue party. The great crusade is now on to conquer the undecided voters, an extremely important element in such close elections.
There are only a few days left for the conclusion of elections that are presented to the world as a model of democracy and freedom, but in which the one who appoints the winner is not the sovereign; it is in fact the real power, the one that puts money and its interests on the table.
