The member of the Political Bureau and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, is in New York, at the head of the Cuban delegation that will present at the UN the Resolution demanding the end of the US blockade.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minister is accompanied by Deputy Minister Anayansi Rodriguez, Cuba's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Ernesto Soberon, and other executives and officials.
The agenda includes two days -29 and 30- for the presentation of the document before the UN General Assembly. On Wednesday 30, the 193-nation forum will vote on Cuba's proposed Resolution, which estimates losses of 5,056.8 million dollars as a result of the siege, only between March 2023 and February 29, 2024.
This figure represents an increase of US$189.8 million with respect to the previous report.
The approximate impact is more than $421 million per month, more than $13.8 million per day, and more than $575,683 in damages for every hour of blockade.
In total, after more than six decades, the consequences of this criminal policy are equivalent to 1,499 billion dollars.
When presenting the report last September, Rodriguez Parrilla denounced in particular the impact of the policy on Cuba's foreign trade and international financial relations.
