Zanzibar, Tanzania.— On the second day of his official visit to the United Republic of Tanzania, the member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Party, Esteban Lazo Hernandez, president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State, held official talks with Hussein Ali Mwinyi, president of Zanzibar, at the headquarters of the State House of this region of the African nation.

In the fraternal exchange, Lazo Hernández stressed the relevance of strengthening the historic bilateral relations between Cuba and Tanzania, based on the legacy of the close friendship between Fidel Castro and Julius Nyerere. He expressed his gratitude for the support to Cuba against the blockade and for its exclusion from the list of state sponsors of terrorism.

Hussein Ali Mwinyi expressed his deep appreciation for the traditional solidarity, Cuba's support to Zanzibar and Cuba's contribution to the independence of several African countries. He sent his greetings to the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.

Later, Lazo Hernández had a dialogue with Zubeir Ali Maulid, head of the Zanzibar House of Representatives. Both parties agreed on the willingness of the two Parliaments to support the strengthening of cooperation relations.

The President of the Cuban Parliament also had an emotional and fruitful exchange with Cuban collaborators in Zanzibar.

In the morning, he visited areas of the Biolarvicide Plant, located in Kibaha, which has the technical assistance of specialists from the largest of the Antilles, due to the Tanzanian Government's interest in combating malaria in his nation.
