
Malabo, Republic of Equatorial Guinea. -The close friendship and the mutual will to continue strengthening the excellent relations in all fields distinguished yesterday the meetings of the member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, with Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of this country.

Marrero Cruz conveyed a warm embrace to Nguema Mbasogo from Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution, and from the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez.
The Head of Government ratified the willingness to “raise economic and commercial ties to the same level as political ones”, and detailed that the agreements signed on the day guarantee the continuity of cooperation. In addition, they will reinforce the commitment between both countries. He thanked his nation for its support to the international claim against the blockade and for the exclusion of Cuba from the list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism.
Nguema Mbasogo, head of State and Government and founding president of the Democratic Party of Equatorial Guinea, recalled his friendship with Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz and Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, and highlighted Cuba's commitment to the African continent.
He acknowledged the more than 400 Cuban collaborators in Public Health and Education who work here, and the similarity of the policy that both countries have followed, with their own efforts, to defend our sovereignty, the independence of our peoples, and not to submit to pressures from Western or foreign countries.
