Moscow, Russia.— With the traditional ceremony of homage at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the member of the Political Bureau of the Party, Esteban Lazo Hernandez, president of the National Assembly of People's Power and of the Council of State, began an official visit to the Russian Federation.
The head of the Cuban Parliament laid a wreath at the historic site in Moscow, accompanied by Ivan Melnikov, First Deputy Speaker of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and Deputy Chairman of the Russian Communist Party, who had received him upon his arrival at the Moscow-Sheremetyevo International Airport.
Also present at the air terminal were Dimitri Novikov, first deputy chairman of the State Duma's International Relations Committee and head of the Russia-Cuba Parliamentary Friendship Group; and Julio Garmendía, Cuban ambassador to Russia.
In the sister Eurasian nation, Esteban Lazo will hold official talks with Russian authorities, and will head the Second Session of the Commission for Collaboration between the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation and the National Assembly of People's Power, together with his counterpart, Vyacheslav Volodin.
