“More bans. No to the export of exploitative labor”. The same speech, the same actions, the same justifications. Nothing changes in the script of the Secretary of U.S. State Department Marco Rubio, whose goal is to suffocate the Cuban government and people.
His recent announcement -in x- proves it all: he continues “the expansion of the visa restriction policy” to “Cuban government officials and complicit third countries, as well as persons responsible for the exploitative labor export program”, he said, referring to the Cuban medical collaboration in the world.
The term, or the phrase, is already hackneyed in his repeated roleucho.
The new measure vociferated by Rubio only reinforces U.S. economic war against the largest of the Antilles - “with the deliberate purpose of destroying the economy and depressing the standard of living of the Cuban population for purposes of destabilization, interference and domination”-, developed since 2020 by U.S. nation. This was denounced by the Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of the United States of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Minrex) Johana Tablada.
She further argued - in x, regarding the press conference at the Cuban embassy in the U.S. - that U.S. administration, having “no reason to justify so much abuse”, uses lies such as the “vulgar criminalization of legitimate medical collaboration”, as well as the accusation of the existence of Chinese bases in Cuban territory, plus “every kind of invention that helps to present Cuba as the threat that it is not”.
Tablada recalled that, while the Secretary of State makes layoffs and budget cuts to save lives, he “quickly” ensured the squandering of funds for “his corrupt favorites who administer” thousands in “failed and costly operations of interference, discrediting and regime change against Cuba.
“This false narrative favors a few powerful people who profit from the absence of ties in our countries. They wish to justify new and harsh coercive measures against the country that does not have a single action against the United States,” she said on the social network.
It is the “people of Cuba who suffer the impact of the blockade and medieval measures,” the Cuban diplomat denounced.
She also recalled that among the toughest measures is the illegal persecution and criminalization of tourism, one of the most important sectors of the country's economy; the same with fuel import operations, transfers, investments and remittances to Cuba, the suspension of bilateral collaboration, the harassment of travelers and intimidation of third countries.
“U.S. government failed to fulfill its commitment with Pope Francis, repealed within hours the relief measures, such as the exclusion from the so-called terrorist list, and reinforced the siege, despite which Cuba did fulfill its commitments, as we continue to do with the migration agreements,” stressed the Minrex official.
Meanwhile, she reiterated that the Island will continue to promote peace and ties between U.S. people and Cubans residing there, and urged to “pay more attention to the personal agenda of the Secretary of State”, which only leads to “dynamiting relations, escalating unjust aggression and pushing our countries to unwanted scenarios of confrontation”.
The White House policy “travels through fiction and should be grounded in reality. With 22 bilateral agreements that we have, we should be talking about cooperation during the hurricane season, the fight against drug trafficking, avoiding irregular migration, preventing epidemics and much more.
But what can he know of humanity and solidarity, or of contributing to the good of the global community, who with his foreign policy promotes war, hunger and destruction.
