In a new manifestation of his obsession to subvert the constitutional order in Cuba, the U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, addressed -he said with honor- his mercenaries on the Island, to reaffirm the "support" to that Cuba they want to impose on us.
This character shared, in X, the same labels that served as a banner to those who called for violence in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and who continued inviting to generate chaos when the Island was fighting for life; circumstances in which even oxygen was denied to us by those who, supposedly, are now the most concerned about the people and their destiny.
Such attitude was denounced in x by the member of the Political Bureau and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, when he pointed out that the Secretary of State "urges his employees" on the island "to subvert the constitutional order and to carry out orders from those who make the Cuban people suffer. While he uses federal funds for his corrupt agents to enrich themselves, millions of U.S. citizens will not have access to health care," he argued.
Former Senator Rubio has a long history of attacks and aggressions against the land where his parents were born. It is largely due to him that, on his first day in the White House, Donald Trump reversed what his predecessor Joe Biden belatedly did, and included Cuba again on the list of state sponsors of terrorism.
A few days later, in his delirium to destroy the Cuban Revolution and reestablish an iron fist policy towards the largest of the Antilles, on January 31 he reactivated the so-called Restricted List, which prohibits transactions with companies linked to the business group of the Revolutionary Armed Forces.
As if that were not enough, it also included in that list the remittance processing company Orbit S.A., through which Cuban emigrants send money to their relatives in Cuba.
In response to these arbitrariness, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez wrote in X that he was not surprised by "the criminal measures announced to threaten Cuba, a country that does not have a single measure in force against the u.s.", and wondered, "How can anyone claim to want to help the welfare of Cubans with new suffocating measures?".
It should be recalled that, during 2017 and more, the current Secretary of State was the main instigator in Congress on the issue of alleged health incidents reported by U.S. diplomats in Havana.
The position on what Washington and the U.S. press would call "sonic attacks", was assumed by the legislator, despite the fact that among his colleagues of both parties there was, and persists, a great doubt about the arguments of the Central Intelligence Agency (cia) and the State Department in this regard.
As further evidence of the hostile policy of the United States against the Cuban people, Rubio has lately dedicated himself to denigrate the medical missions abroad, as he did in the tour of the Caribbean, to press for the restriction of visas for officials linked to those missions, which he falsely accuses of "human trafficking".
The Cuban Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlos Fernández de Cossío, explained that the recently announced U.S. Memorandum against Cuba is influenced by Rubio and anti-Cuban sectors.
