As part of his work program at the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments, held at the Palais des Nations, headquarters of the UN Office in Geneva, the member of the Political Bureau of the Party, Esteban Lazo Hernández, president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State, spoke at the meeting of the presidents of legislative bodies of Small Island Developing States, on the theme Parliamentary Leadership for Urgent Climate Action.

He stressed that, since 2017, the Island has had a State Plan for Confronting Climate Change, known as Tarea Vida, approved in the National Assembly.
Lazo Hernández also held a meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart, Tran Thanh Man, in which both leaders agreed to increase exchanges of delegations and contacts at all levels; closely coordinate and implement various measures to continue consolidating their ties; as well as carry out various activities in commemoration of the 65th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations.
Likewise, he exchanged with his counterparts, Dr. Saara-Kuugongelwa-Amadhila and Carolina Cerqueira, from the Republics of Namibia and Angola, respectively; and had a dialogue with Cubans living in Switzerland and members of the solidarity with Cuba in that nation.
