Caracas, Venezuela—Roberto Morales Ojeda, a member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), described his meeting with Delcy Rodríguez Gómez, Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, as "very fruitful and necessary."
In the fraternal exchange—which marked the conclusion of their official visit to this sister nation—both leaders highlighted the excellent state of bilateral relations. They also discussed the progress of economic, trade, and cooperation ties, as well as the regional and international situation, emphasizing the urgency of preserving peace among our peoples.
After reaffirming Cuba and its people's support for the Bolivarian Revolution and all its diligence, which calmly and courageously confronts the threats looming over the country today, the party leader commented on the complex reality Cuba is experiencing, which has become more difficult "in recent times, due to the intensified blockade, which is the greatest obstacle to our development."
Furthermore, it meant that "we are not sitting idly by," and in light of this situation, the Government Program was approved to correct distortions and boost the economy, and the most important task the Party undertakes is to ensure it."
He stated that the PCC values what the United Socialist Party of Venezuela has done in supporting all the economic and social transformations undertaken by the nation in recent years.
For his part, Rodríguez Gómez expressed his gratitude for the support his people have always received from the Cuban Revolution and its top leaders, and stated that this was a meeting "to strengthen our bonds of friendship and cooperation in the face of current geopolitical challenges and imperialist aggression against our peoples."
"We will continue to develop concrete work agendas between the United Socialist Party of Venezuela and the Communist Party, within the framework of the Cuba-Venezuela Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement, to overcome the criminal economic blockade of which both countries are victims," he wrote shortly after on social media.
Both leaders agreed that their countries will stand stronger than ever, defending the revolutionary project of Bolívar and Martí, of Chávez and Fidel.
Such certainty was demonstrated during these intense days of exchange, demonstrating that unwavering solidarity and unity will always be protective shields against the dangers that threaten peace and security throughout the planet.
Morales Ojeda was accompanied at the meeting by Jorge Luis Broche Lorenzo, member of the Secretariat of the Party's Central Committee and head of its Economic and Productive Department; Emilio Lozada García, head of the International Relations Department; and Osnay Miguel Colina Rodríguez, president of the Organizing Committee of the 22nd Congress of the Cuban Workers' Federation.
Participating on the Venezuelan side were Anabel Pereira, Minister of Economy, Finance, and Foreign Trade; Héctor Andrés Obregón Pérez, President of Petróleos de Venezuela; and Calixto José Ortega Sánchez, former president of the Central Bank of Venezuela and current president of the Research Institute.
