He had already stated on his Twitter account: "Our signatures will add to our express and unwavering solidarity with the legitimate president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and his brave people, who are subjected to one of the most infamous campaigns of the empire."
That is why, this Wednesday, at the José Martí Memorial—before the image of the National Hero and the replica of Bolívar's sword, given by Chávez to Fidel—the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, left, with his signature, proof of his unconditional support for sister Venezuela, as do millions of Cubans in many other parts of the island.
The ceremony was also attended by members of the Political Bureau Roberto Morales Ojeda and José Amado Ricardo Guerra, secretary of Organization of the Central Committee and secretary of the Council of Ministers, respectively; as well as the Commander of the Rebel Army, José Ramón Machado Ventura, together with Orlando Maneiro, ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Havana, and other leaders of the Party and the Government.
Memorial workers also signed the book symbolizing support for the brotherly Venezuelan people, which has multiplied in mass and social organizations and in Cuban civil society in general.
The signing process, which began recently in all workplaces, student centers, and communities throughout the country, will continue until the 30th of this month, as a show of support for the Cuban Revolutionary Government's Declaration: It is urgent to prevent military aggression against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
This initiative was announced by Morales Ojeda at his recent meeting in Caracas with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Moros, as a show of support from the Cuban people for the Bolivarian Revolution, for Maduro—its legitimate president—and for the popular, military, and police alliance.
