OFFICIAL VOICE OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF CUBA CENTRAL COMMITTEE

On her first visit to Cuba, Olga Nikolaevna Chemodanova, president of the Belarusian Party Belaya Rus, was received yesterday at the Central Committee headquarters by Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of Organization of the Communist Party of Cuba.

During the exchange, Morales Ojeda said: "It is very important for our Party that you and the delegation accompanying you have been able to join us in celebrating the Third International Meeting of Theoretical Publications of Leftist Parties and Movements and the First Granma-Rebelde International Festival.

"We believe that these are magnificent opportunities for a meeting between our parties, which will allow us to continue advancing in the fulfillment of the agreement derived from the visit to Belarus by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, last June."

He added that if the roadmap—which is the implementation of this agreement—can be drawn up, it will be another opportunity to realize the will of both parties, as well as to strengthen economic and development relations between the countries.

For her part, Olga Nikolaevna Chemodanova told the press that the Belarusian delegation had held a series of meetings and negotiations with various government representatives of the country.

She stressed that the issue of the economic blockade had been addressed in the exchanges, and "we understand that today the economy is the foundation, and economic security is one of the priority areas."

"In our country, we stand in solidarity with Cuba regarding the economic blockade. We are united against the blockade and the sanctions imposed on the state, and we will do everything possible to implement projects aimed at supporting the stable and progressive development of our economies at the inter-party level," she said.

"We are willing to hold a series of meetings and to be a platform for negotiations aimed, above all, at the development of our countries, at the level of the two parties, our peoples, and, of course, our heads of state," added the chairwoman of the Belarusian Party Belaya Rus.

She also assured that the meetings held so far and those pending during her stay on the island will be aimed, above all, at defending the national interests of our countries, peace, preserving stability and, of course, the development of the states.
