The attacks and threats of war against sister Venezuela have been widely condemned internationally and within the United States, said Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Josefina Vidal.
In this context, she denounced, U.S. warmongering sectors are resorting to crude lies to try to break the unity of the Venezuelan government and people against external aggression, as well as to involve Cuba in the construction of falsehoods and pretexts to justify their aggression.
In this regard, she asserted that the island rejects as absurd and false press reports claiming alleged contacts between Cuban officials and the U.S. government to address internal matters that are solely the responsibility of the Venezuelan government.
She also said that Cuba rejects attempts to tarnish its clean record of fighting for peace in Latin America and the Caribbean and against drug trafficking. Specialized U.S. agencies know firsthand the effectiveness of the largest of the Antilles in confronting drug trafficking, as they benefited directly from it until Secretary of State Marco Rubio instructed them to unilaterally cut off dialogue and cooperation on migration and law enforcement, he said.
Any attempt to use the current situation against the Bolivarian Revolution to cast doubt on the unwavering and firm support of our people and government in these dangerous circumstances for Latin America and the Caribbean will be futile, he said.
LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN ARE RESPECTED
"The people are wise, they don't fight. If we learned to listen more to the people and less to the technocrats, the world would be different," said Diosdado Cabello, secretary general of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, on Monday. And with that certainty, representatives of several nations have gathered in Caracas to attend the Assembly of the Peoples for Sovereignty and Peace in Our America.
Thus, from today until the 11th, the birthplace of El Libertador will be the venue for a space that will serve to counteract the resurgence of the Monroe Doctrine, with which Washington intends to turn the region into the backyard of that government.
A Zone of Peace that is threatened, blockaded, persistently attacked, and whose migrants are persecuted, refuses to be broken despite the siege. Instead, it unites at the very target of the missiles aimed by the northern administration to send a clear message built on revolutions and dignity: Latin America and the Caribbean must be respected.
A Cuban delegation will attend the meeting, where a popular and sovereign action plan to be implemented in 2026 will be forged, and will reiterate the island's firm support for the Venezuelan people and government, and its decision to defend the self-determination of each country.
