2026 marks a decade since Chinese President Xi Jinping proposed a new concept of development based on five fundamental pillars: innovation, coordination, green development, openness, and shared benefits.
This vision has accompanied China in its recent trajectory, contributing to results that transcend the national sphere and are projected onto the world's economy and governance. It is also closely related to initiatives and conceptual frameworks such as the Belt and Road, Global Development, Global Security, Global Civilization, and Global Governance.
The international importance of these concepts, as well as their contrast with the recent actions of the United States—which has decided to withdraw from dozens of United Nations organizations, including the World Health Organization—is discussed in the latest edition of CGTN Español's "Coffee and Tea" podcast.
The program features guests from Argentina, Costa Rica, and Cuba, with participation from the Granma newspaper.
This edition of "Coffee and Tea" contributes to the reflection on different visions for growth, the relevance of multilateralism, and the role of dialogue and international coordination in addressing global challenges, particularly in the field of public health.
Based on concrete experiences, it highlights the importance of building solid multilateral mechanisms and strengthening the participation of countries in the Global South in decision-making that affects the world community.
"Coffee and Tea" offers an opportunity to broaden understanding of current international debates and assess the relevance of articulating concepts that generate stability, equity, and sustainable development.
