"It is a pleasure for us to welcome you and to be able to talk," said Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, on Tuesday afternoon at the Palace of the Revolution, as he welcomed Juan Grabois, leader of Argentina's Patria Grande political party.

The Head of State highlighted the significance of his presence in the largest of the Antilles: "We recognize that this is a show of solidarity with Cuba, because in the times we are living in, we know what it means to come to Cuba."
He expressed his willingness to continue expanding and strengthening relations with Patria Grande, to "seek more exchanges, more moments throughout the year to exchange views and experiences."
The dignitary placed special emphasis on the concept of collective responsibility in the face of the need to see "how we articulate all social movements, of progressive people in such difficult times, at the continental level and also at the international level."
For his part, the leader of Patria Grande, Juan Grabois, commented to the Head of State: "I was taught that friends are revealed in bad times; that in good times we are all there." He then expressed his gratitude for how he was received in Cuba.
The southern intellectual denounced the danger posed by "brute force" and shared his view that the world has entered a stage in which the main dilemma is whether to take the path of dehumanization or that of rehumanization: "There is no other contradiction than that," he stressed.
Juan Grabois referred to how today, for imperial hegemony, "there are lives that are worthless: the lives of migrants are worthless; the lives of poor peoples are worthless; the lives of Palestinian children are worthless." And like the dignitary, he denounced the flagrant violations of international law, "which are not only carried out, but also propagandized."
Prior to this meeting, the Argentine political leader was received by Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and secretary of Organization of the Central Committee.
