China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Wednesday that cooperation with Cuba is transparent and legitimate in response to recent accusations by the United States (U.S.).
During the regular press conference, spokesperson Lin Jian stressed that fabricating pretexts and spreading rumors can never justify the illegal blockade and sanctions against Cuba.
The spokesperson emphasized that U.S. statements also cannot conceal the fact that the U.S. has seriously violated the island’s right to development, as well as the basic norms of international relations.
Lin Jian reiterated that China will continue to firmly support Cuba in defending its sovereignty and national security and urged the U.S. to immediately end the blockade, sanctions, and any form of coercion or pressure against Cuba.
China has consistently expressed its firm support for Cuba in the face of the blockade and unilateral sanctions. The Asian giant has repeatedly rejected such policies, expressing its willingness to deepen cooperation with the island in various fields.
