"Without any legitimate excuse, the U.S. government is building, day after day, a fraudulent case to justify the ruthless economic war against the Cuban people and the eventual military aggression."
This was stated, via social media, by Political Bureau member and Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, who also asserted that: "specific media outlets are playing into their hands, promoting slander and leaking insinuations from the U.S. government itself."
In this regard, the Foreign Minister affirmed that, "Cuba neither threatens nor desires war." He added that the largest of the Antilles "defends peace and is prepared to confront external aggression in the exercise of its right to self-defense, recognized by the UN Charter."
For his part, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carlos Fernández de Cossío, denounced, through the same social network, that "the anti-Cuban effort to justify without any excuse a military aggression against Cuba is intensifying by the hour, with increasingly implausible accusations."
Furthermore, he stated that "the U.S. is the aggressor. Cuba, the attacked country, is acting under the principle of self-defense."
Since January 2026—with two executive orders declaring Cuba an "unusual and extraordinary threat" to U.S. national security—aggression against the island has intensified with the tightening of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed on the Caribbean nation for over 60 years, compounded by the recent oil embargo.
Based on fallacies lacking solid arguments, both orders place the people of Cuba in a complex situation, seeking a social explosion to justify military intervention by the White House, a script already familiar to this country.
