Comrade Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic; other leaders of the Party, the State, and the Government;
Comrade Hua Xin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Cuba;
Distinguished guests:
We are honored to celebrate today the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Long March, two events of great historical significance for that fraternal people and for all humanity.
Faced with the difficult circumstances the Asian country was experiencing due to the military aggression of Western powers and the rise of counter-revolutionary forces, on July 1, 1921, a group of around 50 Chinese communists met in Shanghai to found what remains to this day their vanguard political organization. This event is even more significant because they were harassed by the police and had to conclude their First National Congress on a boat on a lake in the region.
Those 50 courageous communist militants have multiplied and today number more than 100 million, making them the largest Communist Party in the world today.
The Communist Party of China has achieved numerous accomplishments over the past 105 years.
In the history of their struggle, the heroic feat of the Great March by the Red Army stands out, between October 1934 and October 1936, which gave a new and definitive direction to the war, and which demonstrated what a people guided accurately by their Communist Party is capable of doing.
Then came the victory in the fight against Japanese militarism in September 1945 and the triumph of the October Revolution of 1949, where the Party played a decisive role.
The leadership exercised by the Chinese Communist Party for over seventy years in guiding the long and complex process of building socialism is unprecedented.
The Communist Party of China has been able to consolidate economic development for the benefit of the people. The Reform and Opening Up policy, after almost five decades of implementation, has allowed China to become the world's second-largest economy and has demonstrated the validity of socialism as a political system.
It has also been key in the process of national reunification, especially in the incorporation of Hong Kong and Macao in 1997 and 1999.
The theoretical and practical contributions of Chinese communists to Marxism-Leninism and the process of building socialism have been fundamental, both economically, politically, and ideologically. The top Chinese Party leaders, from Chairman Mao Zedong to the current General Secretary Xi Jinping, have played a vital role in advancing socialist thought in a once-poor country that, in less than a century, has achieved a high level of socioeconomic development and the eradication of extreme poverty.
In the international arena, Chinese communists have promoted peace, multilateralism, and the defense of international law and the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations. In recent years, the initiatives promoted by General Secretary Xi Jinping, such as the Belt and Road Initiative, the Building a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind, and the initiatives on global security, development, civilization, and governance, have been particularly significant.
Comrades:
The Communist Party of Cuba and the Communist Party of China maintain an excellent relationship, based on trust, mutual respect, and the legacy of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, Army General Raúl Castro Ruz, and the top Chinese leaders throughout these years of coexistence of our Revolutions.
The ties between our two political organizations constitute the cornerstone of the bonds between our two countries.
The leading role of our communist parties contributes decisively to the implementation of the consensus reached by our top leaders, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and Xi Jinping, since 2022.
The theoretical and practical exchange between our two parties has been consolidated over the past 15 years. Clear evidence of this includes the holding of theoretical seminars, the seventh of which took place in December 2025 in Beijing; the exchange of experiences among cadres at different levels on the construction of socialism; and party support for the development of economic projects of mutual interest in priority areas, both nationally and regionally.
In the international arena, both parties promote cooperation with political forces of the so-called Global South through the BRICS Political Parties Forum and other international party spaces. They foster unity and coordination among all communist parties at the International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties.
Currently, the Communist Party of Cuba and the Communist Party of China are working toward building a bilateral Community of Shared Future.
We appreciate the firm and unwavering support of the Communist Party of China against the economic, commercial, and financial blockade and the energy embargo imposed by the United States government, as well as against the infamous accusation against Army General Raúl Castro Ruz.
The three statements by the spokesperson for the International Department of the Communist Party of China rejecting the two executive orders of January 29 and May 1, as well as other cruel blockade measures by the U.S. administration, have been particularly noteworthy.
The Communist Party of Cuba expresses its gratitude for the continued support and solidarity of the Communist Party of China, especially in the current circumstances of collective punishment and silent genocide against the Cuban people.
We reiterate, once again, the historic position of the Communist Party of Cuba in support of the "One China" principle and reaffirm that Taiwan is an inalienable part of that sister nation.
Comrades:
In 2007, on the anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, stated: "Eighty-six years have passed since the establishment of the Communist Party of China. Now China has become an example and a bastion of hope for other countries."
Nineteen years later, these words remain fully relevant. The Communist Party of China is today an indispensable reference point in the process of building socialism and has demonstrated that the socialist system is a viable alternative to the unbridled capitalism that the North is trying to impose on us. Its commitment to achieving a more just, democratic, and equitable international order reaffirms that a better world is possible.
Long live the brotherly Communist Party of China!
Long live the eternal friendship between our communist parties!
Always onward to victory!
Thank you very much.
