Cuba’s Minister of Tourism, Manuel Marrero confirmed, November 9, in Havana that the country had registered three million tourist arrivals by the second week of November; a target reached more than a month and a half earlier than in 2014.

He noted that Cuba is entering the winter period with favorable conditions implying a great effort on behalf of sector workers to continue to raise the quality of services, make full use of resources, and expand hotel infrastructure.

Marrero highlighted that Canada continues to be the principal emissary of tourists to Cuba, and commented that increases have been registered across all European markets, except Russia.

The Cuban minister recalled that cruise ships - the majority of which operate in the Caribbean are U.S. owned - have also seen a successful season despite restrictions resulting from the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. on the island. (http://www.cuba.cu)
