year Cuba will feature among exhibitors participating in the International Tourism Fair in Paris, France, the country’s most popular global travel event. The 41st edition of Le Monde à Paris, as the event is also known, will take place from March 17-20, in the Versailles Convention Center, Paris.

The Cuban delegation will include representatives from the country’s Ministry of Tourism, travel agency Cubatur and hotel groups Cubanacán, Meliá Hotels International, Iberostar Hotels and Resorts, Blue Diamond Resorts and Accor Hotels.

The delegation’s main objective will be to effectively promote the island to a country with a large tourist market, establish loyal customers and encourage repeat visits, while also seeking out new clients and exploiting the unique event to present original products, services and exclusive offers looking toward the approaching summer season. Another priority for the sector this 2016 continues to be the promotion of Havana as a tourist destination as well as other sites around the country, specifically the island’s various beach resorts.

France continues to be one of Cuba’s top tourist markets, with approximately 37, 463 citizens having already visited the island this year, representing an increase of 38.6% as compared to the same period last year.

The 2015 edition of the Fair saw the participation of 2,500 industry professionals, 415 business committees, clubs and associations, 800 students and professors and 629 journalists, who provided broad media coverage of the event, greatly benefiting the sector. The outlook for the current edition is positive, with the Cuban delegation scheduled to participate in various meetings with international representatives, given the tourist boom sparked on the island over the last two years. The Cuban group will be stationed at stand H063, aisle 4.1 – 4.2. of the exhibition space.
