Cuba reached three million international visitors on October 8, 2016, according to a report by the country’s Ministry of Tourism.
The result represents a 12% increase in arrivals of international visitors to the island, strengthening Cuba’s positioning in the global tourism arena.
Such an achievement has been possible due to the efforts of sector workers in the country; cooperation across multiples branches of the island’s economy; the accompaniment of international collaborators; and especially the constant support of our government and people, protagonists in the development of tourism on the island, reads the Mintur report.
The document concludes by noting that the rise in international tourist arrivals to Cuba represents the commitment to achieve greater results in our management; to work to improve and continually diversify our product; and raise the quality of services. Our main aim is to increase results in order to make a greater contribution to the development of our country and the well-being of our people.
