OFFICIAL VOICE OF THE COMMUNIST PARTY OF CUBA CENTRAL COMMITTEE

The Presidents of Cuba, Raúl Castro, and the United States, Barack Obama, met this Tuesday, September 29, at the UN headquarters in New York, in the context of the 70th period of Session of the UN General Assembly.
The heads of state are leading their respective delegations to UN working commissions. This is the second official meeting between the two; the first took place this past April in Panama, during the Summit of the Americas.
Cuba and the United States officially reestablished diplomatic relations on July 20, 2015.
Also participating on the Cuban side was Bruno Rodríguez, Cuba’s minister of Foreign Relations, and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry.
