On the afternoon of May 20, the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution received the honorable Tomislav Nikolić, President of Serbia, who was making an official visit to the country.
During the fraternal meeting, the distinguished guest presented Fidel with an honorary medal and sash awarded by the Republic of Serbia in a decoration decree citing Fidel’s extraordinary efforts to develop and strengthen relations between Cuba and Serbia.
In an animated conversation, Fidel and Nikolić recalled the historic ties shared by the two countries, and discussed other issues on the international agenda.
At the conclusion of the encounter, Fidel thanked the Serbian President for the decoration and the amicable conversation.
