Havana.— A mass tweet for Cuba and the many reasons to love and defend her and continue the Revolution, will take place this Tuesday, an initiative organized by the Young Communist League, now in the final stretch of preparations for the movement’s Fifth Congress.
This activity taking place on Twitter and other social networks is a precursor to the Congress’ digital sessions scheduled to take place July 17-19 inspired by a quote from the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro: “The reasons to struggle and triumph multiply everyday.”
Specifically, the congress invites all participants to share their ideas, guiding principles, opinions and reasons to be a revolutionary in this country, explained Yisell Rodríguez Milán, editor of the website Soy Cuba - acting as the communicational platform of the mass tweet since 10am this morning, to AIN.
He also called on the many young people - regardless of age, nationality or place of residence - who support Cuba and feel identified and committed to the principles and values of the Revolution, to participate.
The hashtags are: #NuestrasRazones and #XCongresoUJC, and during the Congress internet users will be able to follow events and post messages, thoughts and comments on the Young Communist League’s twitter account: @UJCuba.
The first hashtag is an explicit call to discuss realities which continue to be unfulfilled dreams for millions of people around the world and defend the joy and hope of every achievement realized by the Revolution for over 50 years, emphasized Rodríguez Milán.
Access to culture; equality of opportunities in the sphere of education; advanced scientific development accessible to all; pride in the nation’s glorious history, in its dignity, sovereignty, identity, solidarity, and citizen safety…in truth there is a lot to talk about, he noted.
Something else we are asking participants to do is express their opinions regarding the key topics being debated in the Congress - information about which can be found on the UJC’s Facebook (facebook.com/UJCuba), Google+ and YouTube accounts - in the five simultaneous open forums on www.soycuba.cu, he added.
This mass tweet event will be followed by another on July 16, to inform the world of the arrival of delegates to the Fifth Congress to Havana.
And there is more yet to come, as the website Juventud Rebelde will host an online interview with members of the UJC National Bureau, on July 8, an excellent opportunity to question, comment and express any doubt, criticism and suggestion regarding the forum agenda or organization’s work.
