Cuba hopes a new global agreement based on full respect for the principles of equality and common but differentiated responsibility will be reached during the approaching Conference of the Partiesto the United Nations Framework Convention onClimate Change, scheduled to take place November 30 to December 11 in Paris, according to MSc. Orlando Rey Santos, representative of the Environment department at the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, speaking November 23 at the International Press Center (CPI).

In this regard, he noted that industrialized nations should propose greater commitments to the reduction of their greenhouse gas emissions as well as toward transferring technology and resources to developing nations, in order to aid their adaptation and mitigation actions.
