Yesterday morning, December 11, José Ramón Machado, second secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) Central Committee, received Medardo González Trejo, secretary general of El Salvador's Farabundo Martí National Liberation Front, who is leading a delegation visiting our country on the invitation of the Party.
In a fraternal climate, the two leaders discussed the main issues of concern in the region, experiences in party work, and in particular the agreements reached at the PCC's 7th Congress. Both reaffirmed their interest in continuing to develop the historic relationship shared by the two parties and peoples.
Also participating on the Cuban side was José Ramón Balaguer Cabrera, member of the PCC Central Committee Secretariat and head of its International Relations Department. The Salvadoran delegation included José Luis Merino, deputy foreign minister and FMLN organizational secretary; Sandra Geraldina Alvarado, the country's ambassador in Cuba; and others.
