Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro Moros concluded his official visit to Cuba, yesterday evening April 22, during which the two countries reaffirmed their strong ties of friendship and cooperation.

During his stay, Maduro met with Miguel Díaz-Canel, newly elected President of Cuba's Councils of State and Ministers, to reaffirm joint plans and discuss ways to strengthen the integration and development of their peoples.

In statements to the press, Maduro emphasized that true unity, independence, and liberation depend on the economic integration that is being constructed.

Comandante en Jefe Fidel Castro and Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez began efforts to develop a new type of integration based on complementarity and solidarity, expressed concretely in the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America and a number of bilateral cooperation agreements.
