
SANTIAGO DE CUBA.— Mariana Grajales Cuello, whose devoted children, tireless commitment and love for the freedom of all Cubans earned her the title of Mother of the Homeland, was honored Sunday by a representative group of Santiago de Cuba residents, on behalf of the Cuban people, at the city’s patrimonial Santa Ifigenia cemetery.
While, the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, wrote in a tweet, on the occasion of Mothers day, May 9: "Congratulations to all Cuban mothers, whose love for their families is also the support of the nation. Our affection and admiration.”

Evoking the daily dedication that throughout history has characterized Cuban mothers, the President emphasized in another message: "Mothers' Day is a beautiful day, because it reminds us of the tribute we owe our everyday heroines. Congratulations mothers. We are your children. #Somos Cuba. #SomosContinuidad."
