Given progress being made in the process of vaccination against COVID-19 in Cuba, its proven effectiveness and the prospect that more than 90% of the entire population will complete the full regimen in November, conditions are being prepared to gradually open the country's borders beginning November 15, 2021.

According to a note from the Ministry of Tourism sent to Granma’s editorial offices, health and hygiene protocols will be more flexible for arriving travelers, with the focus on surveillance of symptomatic visitors and body temperature monitoring. In addition, diagnostic tests will be performed randomly, while no negative PCR will be required of arriving visitors and vaccination certificates will be recognized.

The domestic tourist market will also be opened gradually, in accordance with epidemiological indicators in each territory.
