The willingness to strengthen relations between Cuba and Spain in the notarial field, particularly in training and computerization, distinguished the meeting of the member of the Political Bureau and Prime Minister, Manuel Marrero Cruz, with the members of the General Council of Spanish Notaries, Alfonso Cavallé Cruz, delegate for America, and Andrea Murillo Fallas, counselor of International Relations, who are visiting our country.

During the exchange in the Palace of the Revolution, Marrero Cruz reiterated the Government's support for the consolidation of the notarial activity, and recognized the legal sector as one of the most advanced in the computerization of procedures and services.

Although it is necessary to continue improving management, Cuba has strengthened, according to the Prime Minister, its justice system and, with the contribution of a solid University, promoted a legal culture among the population.

Everything we do to facilitate the procedures for the people, to make them more expeditious, will be beneficial, together with the professionalism and quality of services, which is the hallmark of the notary institution, said the Head of Government.

Cavallé Cruz, who is also dean-president of the Notarial Association of the Canary Islands, emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation, since "we can be very important allies." In his opinion, it is a matter of learning from each other's good experiences and identifying points of collaboration of common interest.

Cuba has, he said, "a powerful notary's office," while highlighting the legislation and scientific doctrine of the Greater of the Antilles; it stands out in the region and can become a platform to nurture knowledge to other countries in the area, hand in hand with legal and technological security.

On the strengthening of the role of the notary, from the updating of the Cuban economic model, and the work done to bring services closer to the population, said the head of Justice, Oscar M. Silvera Martínez, who was accompanied by the first deputy minister, Rosabel Gamón Verde; the general director of Notaries and Public Records, Olga Lidia Pérez Díaz, and the director of International Relations, Alexis Batista Segrera.
