"The Homeland is all of us, and with you it grows", said the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Party and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, at the closing ceremony of the IV Conference The Nation and Emigration, held in the Cuban capital on November 18 and 19.
The Head of State also assured that the commitment to strengthen ties with Cubans living in any latitude of the world is invariable and irreversible.
With the purpose of strengthening the Island's ties with Cubans living abroad, and continuing a process initiated by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz in 1978, the event gathered more than 370 delegates from 54 nations.
The four panels of this important space for dialogue focused on the country's relationship with emigration, culture and identity, the economy and the participation of Cubans living abroad in the Island's development from multiple perspectives.
In addition, social communication and new information technologies were discussed as instruments for rapprochement and for disseminating an objective image of Cuba.
The Cuban President expressed that the feeling of pride and love for this land has animated all dialogues of this type that have been held over several decades, saving what unites us over what could separate us.
"The ties between Cuba and its nationals abroad are going through one of their best moments today," he said.
The generalized rejection of the U.S. blockade against our country, and the pronouncements in favor of preserving the undisputed achievements of the Revolution, demonstrated this in this IV Conference.
