This is not the first time. Hopefully it will be the last, because the world will witness as soon as possible the peace solution that millions of voices are clamoring for, in spite of the silence that continues to mark those who could and should give their opinion, take action?
The reality is that once again students and young Cubans have gathered to tell Israel enough with the massacre it continues to carry out in Gaza, contrary to all feelings of humanity and the most elementary precepts of international law.
Laura Concepción García, youth leader at the José Martí University in Sancti Spíritus, said that "peace cannot be sustained on the basis of violence and human pain," and therefore she considered it "a duty to raise our voices in favor of those who cannot do it."
The young Mohammad Muhisen, son of Palestinian parents, added his opinion to this claim, convinced that the indifference and lack of effective international action in the face of the heartbreaking images of genocide transmit a feeling of abandonment towards that suffering people.
"This is not the case of Cuba -he added-, whose support to our cause becomes a beacon of hope and encouragement in a world that seems oblivious to human suffering."
In that sense, he thanked for that solidarity, for the help offered in the training of doctors (as it happens with him today), in the training of professionals and technicians in different spheres, "a reality that encourages and strengthens us because it shows that the fight for justice has no borders."
Faced with the heartbreaking reality that stalks Palestine, thousands of Avileños, with the presence of the main authorities of the territory, also gathered yesterday in the José Martí Park, in the capital city, to demand a peace that must come urgently, because the war smells of extermination.
The same happened in the Mausoleum of the Martyrs of Artemisa, in the Cultural Plaza of Las Tunas, in the Monument to the Martyrs of the University of Oriente in Santiago de Cuba, the Plaza 24 de Febrero in Guantanamo. The whole island raised -and will continue to raise its voice, as long as necessary- for those who cannot do it.
Children who are burned in their mother's womb, who do not reach the hospital because almost all the health care centers have collapsed due to the bombings, dead children under the rubble, children who are shot at at random or hunted by snipers, while Israeli soldiers applaud.
One who is far from Palestine, but feels the pain of that people as one's own, knows that most of the children will not live to tell of mischief or talk of happiness. If you escape the bombings, the rockets, you may not escape the soldiers or the settlers, also trained to massacre and hunt the Palestinians, as if they were not human beings. Cuba will never be an accomplice to extermination, our history is founded on the basis of justice, and we will follow that path.
