The Cocodrilos of Matanzas have made baseball history. Their legacy of 67 wins in a 90-game season, during the 56th National Series, is one for the books.
When asked about the Industriales' record 66 victories in the 42th Series, Manager Víctor Mesa has always said that it is important to take the lead early in the season.
This past Sunday, December 25, the Matanzas team put to rest the record established by Rey Vicente Anglada's squad in 2003. The historic 67th victory came in a 16-1 knock-out against Granma's Alazanes, which allowed the Cocodrillos to add strings of 18 and 19 wins in a row to the 42 achieved in the first round of the season.
The team remains focused on a more important goal of winning their first title since the two in 1991 and 1992, to write another chapter in Cuban baseball history as a great champion.
