It is with deep sorrow that our people have learned of the passing of the President of the sister Islamic Republic of Iran, His Excellency Dr. Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi. For this reason, the President of the Republic of Cuba decreed Official Mourning, from 6:00 a.m. on May 21 until 12:00 p.m. on May 22, 2024.
During his term as President of that country since 2021, he contributed decisively to the development and strengthening of friendly relations and cooperation between both nations.
The Cuban people and Government accompany Iran in this moment of grief and express their confidence that the Islamic Revolution will move forward and will know how to recover from this unfortunate event.
During the period of Official Mourning, the Lone Star Flag shall be flown at half-mast in public buildings and military institutions.
