Russia is a traditional, trustworthy partner, and the strengthening of bilateral relations in all spheres continues, emphasized Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, a Council of Ministers vice president, yesterday June 21, during the opening of the second day at the Cubaindustria 2016 convention and trade fair, dedicated to this country.

Prospects for trade are positive, with both countries focused on expanding economic ties, noting that cooperation projects between the two countries are important to Cuba's development plans, both the 2016-2021 plan, and the long term plan through 2030, he said.

Salvador Pardo Cruz, minister of Industries (Mindus), recalled that Russian companies are participating in high impact economic spheres in Cuba, such as energy and transportation - vehicular, railroad and aerial.

Gregory Kalamanov, Russian deputy minister of Industry and Trade said that other markets are being investigated, and mentioned the possibility of participating in supplying the tourist industry here.

Outstanding among the 16 Russian companies attending the convention and trade fair is Kamaz, leader in the manufacture of trucks which have circulated throughout the island for more than 30 years.

Tatiana Mashkova, vice president of the Russia-Cuba Business Council noted that work is underway to launch Cuban products in her country, including the unique medication Heber­prot P for diabetic foot ulcers.

She noted that talks are taking place with the Cuban state enterprise BioCubaFarma to establish collaboration in the area of cancer treatment and the manufacture of medical equipment.
