On arriving in Cuba to participate in the 7th Summit of the Association of Caribbean States, the Prime Minister of Grenada, Keith Mitchell, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome received from “Cuban brothers and sisters.”

The Grenadian leader was received at Havana’s José Martí International Airport by the Cuban Minister of Justice, María Esther Reus.

Mitchell stated that ever since his first visit to the island in 1997, he has always felt at home here.

The Prime Minister also noted that he was very eager to participate in this 7th ACS Summit, which will see a meeting of Heads of State and/or Government this Saturday, June 4.

He added that the meeting will address significant issues for the region, such as tourism, climate change, transport and cooperation. This will be a summit to unite us further as a region, he stressed.

Finally, he said he was optimistic about the successful results of the Summit.
Grenada is one of the 25 ACS Member States, the first genuinely Latin American and Caribbean organization, promoting unity, consensus, cooperation and integration, created on the initiative of its members.
